The MicroMain27 is a 3.5-way active system with five meticulously engineered drivers housed in sealed enclosures, spanning an impressive 30Hz to 45kHz. With vanishingly low distortion, breathtaking dynamic range, and lightning-fast transient response, it sets a new benchmark in monitoring. Opposing 10″ Dual-Force™ Technology subwoofers anchor the low end with precision, while its 5.25″ midbass driver — built with cutting-edge materials and design — renders midrange detail rivaling the finest transducers in the world. Dual-Force Technology

Cabinet vibrations are a major source of distortion and coloration in most loudspeakers, stemming from a fundamental principle: action and reaction. As the driver motor propels the cone back and forth to generate sound, the cone exerts an equal and opposite force on the motor. This energy is then transferred through the driver frame to the cabinet itself, a phenomenon most pronounced at low frequencies where cone movement is greatest.

While the MicroMain27’s cabinets are exceptionally massive and meticulously braced, Barefoot go even further — addressing the problem at its very source. Their innovative Dual-Force™ Technology eliminates vibrations before they even begin. By mounting low-frequency drivers on opposing sides of the cabinet and locking their motors together, they create a force-canceling system: as the cones move in and out in opposite directions, the forces exerted on the motors perfectly counteract one another. The result? Vibrations never reach the cabinet because they are neutralised at their origin.

This layout provides an additional advantage: the opposing subwoofers form an incredibly rigid internal metal brace, reinforcing the entire structure. Furthermore, because the wavelengths produced by the subwoofers are significantly larger than the cabinet itself, the subs radiate as if they were a single point source — perfectly aligned with the tweeter for an ultra-coherent soundstage.
